Note: During my 3 day touristical visit in North Korea, I was received personally and friendly by my two local tour guides who treated me very well as a highly respected foreign guest. To accomodate with local habits and regulations, I also attended a detailed pre-trip seminar in Beijing. Any of my questions and interest for the visit within the city and the DMZ were considered, however the final decision on the itinerary, walks, photo stops, and the actual sight seeing route was with my local hosts.
